We’ll lead you through the heart of the Andean wilderness to the ancient site of Machu Picchu Cusco. Here’s a detailed itinerary that captures the essence of the trek, complete with active endeavors and mesmerizing views.
Day 1 Cusco – Abra Málaga – Santa Maria
We begin our adventure early in Cusco, where we board our private transport to the Abra Málaga pass. Sitting at an elevation of 4,316 meters (14,160 feet), this high-altitude point marks the start of our thrilling downhill mountain biking journey. We will navigate 55 kilometers (34 miles) of winding roads that descend into the lush, subtropical landscape. Helmets and safety gear on, we’ll feel the rush of cool air as we drop down to 1,430 meters (4,692 feet) above sea level.
Upon reaching the lower elevations near Santa María, we gear up for our next adventure: an exhilarating white-water rafting session on the Urubamba River. The rapids will challenge us with their strength, offering an adrenaline-pumping experience amidst stunning natural scenery. Please note that rafting is the only main activity included for this afternoon. Afterward, we spend the night in Santa María, resting and preparing for the next day’s trek.

Day 2 Santa Maria – Cocalmayo Hot spring – Santa Teresa
We rise with the sun in Santa María. Energized by a hearty breakfast, we lace up our boots for a full day of trekking through breathtaking scenery. The climate today will shift significantly, becoming hot and humid as we deep-dive into the high jungle.
Our path meanders through dense vegetation where we will experience a section of the original, authentic Inca Trail, walking the same stone paths used centuries ago. Along the way, we will stop for an interactive Coffee and Chocolate Tour, where you will learn about the traditional cultivation, harvesting, and artisanal production of local organic coffee and cacao.
The trek also features an exciting local experience: crossing the river on an Oroya (a traditional open-air cable car). Our journey leads us towards the town of Santa Teresa, but first, we will stop at the enchanting Cocalmayo Hot Springs. Here, you can indulge in the soothing thermal waters—a natural remedy for your tired muscles. Afterward, we continue to Santa Teresa to spend our first night.

Upon arrival at Machu Picchu, an expert professional guide will lead you on a comprehensive 2.5-hour tour. You will marvel at the intricate stone architecture, learn about the fascinating history of the Inca civilization, and explore its mysteries.
